Biographical History
Stephen LeRay was born in 1870 on the Isle of Guernsey. At age 15 he came to United States and settled
in Nebraska. He married Avarilla Bruce on February 14, 1899. His daughter, Tena Esther, married James
Chandler. Their daughter, Virginia Chandler, married Kenneth Savage. Kenneth was the son of Ralph
Savage and Ola Gunsolley. Kenneth was born on September 28, 1924 in Independence, Missouri.
Scope and Content
The photographs pertain to the ancestors of Kenneth Savage. Family names include Chandler, LeRay,
Gunsolley, Savage, and Tyrrell. The photographs date from the mid nineteenth century to the mid
twentieth century. Additionally, a wooden family crest for the Savage family is included in the collection.
