Biographical History
Jesse (Jessie) Smith Perrine was born on August 14, 1824 in Ohio. Sabra Haskell was born September 8,
1834 in Ohio. They were married on May 28, 1856 and together they had eight children. Jessie was a
Civil War veteran serving as a sergeant with the 10th Regiment of the Missouri Cavalry. The family lived
in Ray and Barry counties in Missouri.
Scope and Content
The family Bible begins with the marriage of Jesse S. Perrine of Lexington, Missouri and his marriage to
Sabra Haskell of Camden, Missouri. The family Bible contains names and dates of the Perrine and
Abernathy families. Record of births, marriages, and deaths are written on the family record pages of
the Bible.
