Dearest Wife
Don’t fall over cause this is the first time I have written while I was on leave. Actually I am just
lazing around this week. Right now I am listening to my tape-recorder while I am writing you. It needs a
little adjustment for it has a slight squeek [squeak]. Boy this old weather is real nice I suppose it is pretty
nice there now to.
Didn’t hardly do a thing last wk [week] got paid $80 Thursday will come in handy on my leave.
This Sun [Sunday] me and 2 other boys from the company are going over to Paris. (just think I will get to
see the follies I hear they are wild ones) Is it okay with [page 2] you if I go? Tonight we are playing our
first league game I am going to play even thou [sic] I am on furlough. It feels good just to know I don’t
have to get up for Reville [Reveille]. Hows the youngen [sic]? Mean as ever I suppose, I saw a 6 month
old baby boy yes. [yesterday] recon [sic] Kenny is somewhere about the same anyhow I was sorta
wondering. Glad to hear his pictures came out good. Honey this will let you know I am thinking of you
so believe I will sign off. Don’t know when I will write again. (Liable to run off with one of those French
girls next wk [week]) haha jealous? What makes you think I won’t love you? Tell all hello hope
everyone is okay
See you Angel
Love
