Tue [Tuesday] Morn [Morning] 8:45
Dearest Wife
I recon [sic] you know what today is believe me I feel every bit a year older to. In 4 more days I
am celebrating so I am going to be a good little boy tonight. I received my box last Sat [Saturday] I must
say it was sure a nice one. Although I think the pen and pencil plus the stationary was just a hint, to bad
you didn’t include the stamps I would probably wrote 2 or 3 letters a wk [week] then. The song books
and strings were a real good idea also the shaving lotion as I am just about out of the stuff, I must say it
has a lasting odor. The leather case will come in handy also I really like the nuts especially the pecans.
All in all I think it was a wonderful selection of things I need or want if you keep on doing things like that
I [page 2] may fall for you yet. I would give all of it away for just one thing and that is you. I sure have
been in a powerful loving mood lately. It is so hard to get used to being without after you get the habit.
That is why I had to marry you I was so afraid someone else would step into my shoes, which you know
as I do that they would have. I probally [sic] wouldn’t have been as true as I have been either. It was so
wonderful I couldn’t keep my hands off you after we parked believe it or not sometimes I tried to keep
from bothering you only I couldn’t help myself funny no other girl ever had that effect on me. I must
admit I was supprised [surprised] to hear you admit you get hot same as me I was afraid you might not
ever want to again after what happened while I was in on my leave. Yes I knew you weren’t nice [page
3] I still like to hear you own up to it. I must say it amuses me to hear about Rosetta and Jack yes I
haven’t forgotten the time I went after the mail. No need for me to say whether I thought you were
glad to see me when I came back, actions speak louder than words you know. I finally got to play bingo
Thursday nite had to get a boy to take CQ [Charge of Quarters] for me thou [sic]. Never won a darn
thing hope to this Thursday, $500, 400, $200 all in all 13 or 14 hundred dollars in the jackpots. How has
the weather been lately? it is pretty nice here only trouble I have had a bad cold for a wk [week] or so
now sure wish it would disappear. I had CQ [Charge of Quarters] Sat [Saturday] nite Sun [Sunday] I went
out last night I went to the show you can see that I have been pretty busy. I want to ge[t] to the show
tomorrow as it sounds like a good one (Red Mountains with Alan Ladd). So my old lady is much to fat
huh? honestly I feel sorry for you as well as [page 4] myself. I intend to take a lot of pictures on my trip
if there is any interesting scenes I may buy you a pair of wooden shoes to. I am out of news so will close
for now. Thank you again for the wonderful box. Tell all hello for me.
All my Love
Jr Tinder
P.S. I doubt if I write again till I come back from my trip. Just you be sure you don’t quit writing.
