Dearest Wife
Darn if I can think of anything to write about except that I love you a lot only with you there and
me here, it isn’t doing me any good. I bet you had a lively time this weekend, as for me the same old
grind. All I do off duty is go to movies and look at the 4 walls in this room. I have finally found out when
I go to school. It is the 15th of May, I am tired of even thinking about it anymore. We have sure had
some nice weather here this past week the people are getting thick as flies on the streets. They sure do
a lot of walking around here, clear up into the night. I picked up the pictures I took so will send some of
them to you. What do you think of the bull? The one of the grape vines on the hillside is just to show
you what kind of land they grow grapes on around here. The cabled [page 2] bridge sure swings all
around if you jump up and down on it. The picture of the boy and girl, he is in the Det [Department] and
had a date with her last Sun [Sunday]. I expermented [experimented] by taking a picture real close to
the camera, it isn’t to good but looks just like me. As for the rest they are only pictures of myself which
do not interest me. The one of the boy by his self he sleeps in my room. He has really led a tough life to
be only 18 yrs [years] old. I got my package from home it was in good condition. Sure was glad to get
my hat you should see the thing I have been wearing. While I am thinking about it I want you to get me
a copy of Anytime and send it to me. I think I can buy country roundup at the PX [Postal Exchange] I
shall try sometime this week. I hop[e] you are feeling fine, tell all hello for me. Think I will close for now
I love you, I miss you, would like to be with you, as ever

P.S. Who is it that I said I would like to have them melt in my arms? Bet you don’t remember
