Thur [Thursday] Eve [evening] 6:45 PM
Dear Wife
Well I have already [sic] got my day in, although it is 15 min [minute] before you get off for
lunch. That is if you are working today. I am a unlucky boy tonight as I have to pull C.Q. [charge of
quarters]. I can write some letters between now and 12 o’clock if my writing hand doesn’t play out. I
have been wanting to write Bob and Frank, this will be a good opportunity. I just saw a picture on V.D.
[venereal disease] it was awful especially right after supper. It carried a good message for Guys who get
a little fast with themselves. Believe me they all are nuts, women is all they think about. I received 4
letters plus 2 cards from you today which makes me well satisfied. I got quite a kick out of the cards.
Not wanting to blow you up or anything but you do have a knack of picking them. I am mad at you for
saying I only write you once a week because I have always written at least 2. Remember that real short
letter you [page 2] wrote? You said there was just nothing to write about. Well I have even less news all
I can write about is what I do, which isn’t much. About being bored about you telling me you love me
means you are bored of me telling you. Actually you don’t tell me enough. Since you do not trust me I
guess I will go ahead and starting messing with girls. If I am going to be accused of doing something I
don’t do, I might as well do it. All I can say you better write and tell me you do believe me. I will be
going to school before to much longer. It is in Marnau [Murnau, Germany] about 5 miles from Munic
[Munich] I intend to get me a guitar when I get there. I have had another workless week it really gets
tiresome. I read quite a bit to pass the time away. Sorry to hear you are back on your old job I am afraid
it is to hard on you. Don’t take any chances with yourself for I want a whole wife when I get home.
Right now if I were there and it was [page 3] 7:30 we would go to bed then I would kiss you many times
among other things to make you warm (boiling hot I mean). After that I would go to sleep. Of course I
am only kidding about sleeping. How l long to be with you again. I know it wouldn’t take you very long
to cool me off but it would still be very very wonderful to have you again. I bet you don’t care to hear
this kind of talk only I am going to write it anyway. About wanting a boy or girl? {marks nix} to me,
which in german means it matters not. From what I hear you want a girl is that right? I still bet it is a
boy. I am much mad at you for drawing that crude picture of me. As for you sending me some good
pictures of you, good. Only I won’t waste film on myself as you already have at least 50 of me. Well
Angel if I am going to write the boys I better close for now. Tell all hello for me. Write me lots
