Hello Darling
Here comes a few more lines from your old lonesome Husband. Missing you as usual how I
would love to be with you all the time. Boy I sure didn’t know I would miss you as much as I do. I
suppose I will just have to get along somehow. I love you so darn much. Believe me when I do finally
get home you had better watch me pretty close or there will be a dozen little Juniors. I will hug you so
tight and kiss you so much you will wish you were a sponge. That is only a little of how much I really
miss you. I will be glad when I get some letters from you again maybe it won’t be so bad then. I sat
around at the shop all day yesterday. Today I took training as we have to take it once every week. It
doesn’t amount to anything because I sat around all day today to. I work from 8 till 5 with a hour [page
2] off for noon. The kind of racket I hope to keep long as I have to be over here. I should start home
next June which right now is a long ways off to me. The chow tonight wasn’t to hot it is just fair most of
the time. Once in a while it is pretty good they have already had ice tea a couple of times. It has been a
little cloudy today although I don’t think it is going to do anything. If this good weather keeps up I will
satisfied. I have to fill out my clothing forms so I can send my clothes off to be washed tomorrow but I
think I will go to the show first. There is a musical of some kind on tonight it will make me homesick but
I am going anyway. How have you been feeling lately? Good I hope as it is going to be hard enough on
you if you feel your best all the time. Bet you cain’t guess what I am looking at right now. Well I tell you
again as I generally do in every letter I now have 2 pictures of you I look at half the time [page 3] of
course the one in the tree is the best. The other one is you standing by the apple tree with your hands
in the pockets of your shorts, also the sweater with bumps on it of which I would like to have my hands
on right now. You know you have the wild and wicked look in your eye. I could take it out of them thou
[sic]. Wanta bet? Angel I may sound silly but I don’t care. I finally got that roll of film developed. When
the fella that went after them comes back I will probally [sic] send some to you. Tomorrow I may see Lt
[Lieutenant] Hughes and get permission to go down to Kaiserslautern with my pay records to get paid.
The Sargent suggested I take them down. I am rooming with a couple good Guys the other one is away
on leave right now. We have some nice clothes closets, a wash basin in our room it is pretty handy. The
shower and bathroom is just down the hall. Well Darling tell the Folks and all hello for me. I guess every
body [sic] will be [page 4] busy farming before long as school will soon be out with spring just around
the corner.
