Dearest “Darling”
Hope my wife is missing me much as I do her. It is a lonely life that I lead when I had a few days
to have a wonderful time with my gal what do I do but make you feel bad most of the time. Believe me
Angel I regret it. How is Momma making it these days? Any of those dizzy or fainting spells yet? Of
course you know I am joking only if it is true you take good care of yourself or I shall have to beat your
head in as I intend for you to be my wife a long long time. Would love to have heard from you but never
have although I imagine that you have written. I think I must have given you the wrong address. I have
checked at the mail room every day only I haven’t had any luck. Well Darling I am quite aways [sic] from
home but starting tomorrow I will be a lot further. Today I have been preparing to go packing clothes,
cleaning up, writing to you, so I should be about ready to go before too long. They say it will take 9 or
10 days to make [page 2] the trip so no telling how long it will be till you hear from me again. I sent my
new address to mom and Dad will send it to you later on in the letter. I guess you have been working
hard? I was unlucky Sat [Saturday] had fireman all day till 5:30 but I came in changed my clothes and
took off for New York. It is quite a town just walked around all night looking things over boy was I tired
when I hit the sack. Rented a room at Hotel Mansfield slept till 10:30 then took off walking again finally
went to the Empire State Building. It is really a skyscraper believe me. Was over a 1000 ft [feet] off the
ground, you could see for a distance of 20 miles in all directions it is sure quite a place. Went to the
show that eve [evening] started back to camp at 4:50 PM Sun [Sunday] my legs are really sore from
walking so much. Well Darling tell all the folks hello for me. So for now I will say so long till later. Take
care of yourself above all be true to me. All my Heart
