Dearest Darling
A few minutes before I shave and go to bed so will drop you a line. Hope this finds you feeling a
100% better than when I was home. I made it back fine last night but I didn’t like that 8 hr [hour] buss
[sic] ride I got back at the company at 9:00 last night. Reported over to the First Sargent this morning he
didn’t say anything but the Company commander gave me a talking to. He said I should allow enough
time to get back and not to let it happen again. They were pretty nice about it. I called mom tonight to
find out about my car. As you probally [sic] know Kelly Williams got it again. The worse part about all
this deal is those 2 wreck [sic] have cost me over $320 dollars. Which has put us many dollars in the
hole. Over all I am pretty well discouraged don’t hardly know what to do I suppose we will make it
somehow. I hate to say it but I am almost positive that I will not be able to come home this weekend as
we have guard and there is no way [page 2] for me to get out of it. That is going to be the only trouble
with this school to many details. From what I hear a lot of the Boys from this school have been
transferred into the Air Force after they finish training. Anyhow I think I was awful lucky to get it
because they say after you finish you don’t have much to do. Mom said something about you all coming
down and bringing my car. That would sure be nice I doubt if they get it finished thou [sic]. Well Babe I
think I will sign off tell all hello for me. Be careful and don’t work to hard. Am hoping to see you soon
may call Mary K Fri [Friday] or Sat [Saturday] if I don’t make it home
All my love
Jr Tinder
