My Dearest Darling (honeybunch) Agnes
(ha ha) Even thou [sic] I should be sleeping after a sleepy day, all day I will attempt to answer the
longest letter I have ever received from you. I guess you really got me told off huh? Horbel wouldn’t
get mad over a letter like that it just showed me that you are a Bag. Talking about me writing long
letters I recon [sic] I will have to make you mad at me more often so’s [sic] I can get some long ones
from you to. I guess you went back to work this morn? Old easy money, as for me I didn’t get to bed
last night in fact I didn’t even make it to Revely [reveille] this morn [morning] I had so much to do. I
suppose I will have to start back earlier from now on as bad as I hate to even think about it. You know
we will get along much better if you will only forget about Gene Wilks [page 2] I think maybe (and I am
not trying to be conceited) if I wanted her I might be able to get her. Only trouble I suppose you are the
one I love even thou [sic] I have never been able to make you believe it. I hope I am lucky enough to get
to come home again this week believe me that is really something to look forward to. Even if we do
have battles it is still awful nice to be with you. Well Aggie I cannot think of a thing to write (it is much
better to be with you) and since I am so sleepy I shall close for now. Tell the Folks hello for me and keep
on writing.

P.S. Even thou [sic] I plumb forget to tell you the candy was real good. Beter [sic] than I expected thanks
also for the apples {over} [page 3] I eat them with a knife since I don’t have teeth. I have some lovely
cards I shall drop you a line on one of these days

Hello “Angel” after a good nights sleep I am feeling much better this morn [morning]. In about 5
minutes we are going to leave for the field. I would rather be with you by far. I love you a lot even if
you are a little bit tempermental [sic] anymore
