Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
Aug [August] 14, 1951
9 oclock [sic]
Dearest Darling,
Since it seems a month since I last saw you Sun [Sunday] I had better write you a letter and tell
you that I still love you or you might get ideas in that head of yours. I trust that you all made it home
allright [sic] or I would have heard something by now. I know you all had a rough trip home but it sure
did make me feel a lot better to see you again. Believe me it was 10 times as hard to tell you all
goodbye as it was down to Camp Crowder. I suppose you have been working hard the last few days?
That’s good then you will keep out of trouble and make a lot of money at the same time then I can
marry a rich woman. Boy that would be nice. We had a big parade in front of the Colonel that was
really tiring and boring. Tomorrow we are going on a 6 mile hike which will be much worse thou [sic],
things are going to keep getting rougher as we go along through basic. I received the cards from the
girls and would like for you to thank them for me if you will then when I come home I will thank them
personally. Tell them I write also. If I had the time [page 2] I would write them but believe me they
keep us pretty darn busy. Tell all the folks hello for me to. There are rumors that we will get a pass our
3 week in basic so I may see you all soon. Even if I don’t get one I think Mary K and them are coming
down I hope that means you to. Say I want you all to get on the ball I received some cards which were
reall [sic] nice but I haven’t got a letter so far this week. I look for some tomorrow thou [sic]. Well Angel
I think I will sign off for now. Bye and be good
All my Love
Jr Tinder
PS. Write me all the news and whats [sic] going on. Ain’t I nosey? Don’t answer that.
