Camp Crowder, MO
Dearest Darling
Well it has been just another rainey [sic], hot day here at Camp Crowder but I expect you had a
nice time working. I have had a pretty good day, today although it was still boring as only Army life can
be. Just went up to mail call and there we found out where I am going, to be Fort Learnord [sic] MO.
Pretty good news huh? at least I will be pretty clost [sic] to home of which I am glad. I suppose you
made it home allright [sic] Sunday nite [sic]? Boy I cain’t [sic] tell you all how glad I was that you and the
rest got to come down. I really had a wonderful time even if I am cooped up. How did the pictures turn
out? As if I would have to ask because every picture of me is usually not worth a darn. As soon as I
write you from Fort Learnord [sic] Wood you can send [page 2] them to me. I suppose you have been
running around and having fun; lucky you personally I hate this man’s Army worse every day but there is
nothing I can do about it. Tell all your folks hello for me and I imagine I will see them before long
because if I am lucky I will get a 3 day pass after 3 weeks basic training. Well Angel I think I will close for
now as I am going to the show tonight (The Secret of Convict Lake) I hope it is good as it gets pretty hot
in the theatre.
Love as always
Jr Tinder
P.S. Aggie will you call up Mom and Dad and tell them I am going to Fort Learnord [sic] Wood. Leaving
here early Thursday morning. Also that I will write soon as I get setteled [sic] there.
Thanks (Heavy)
Hope you can read this letter
