August, Tuesday 30
Pleasent [sic] and warm Andrews was
plowing I was mowing in the
the [sic] forenoon in the afternoon clean
ed [cleaned] up two bags of wheat to take
to mill Went to Dansville to mill
Samantha went up to Hiram
Burrells I staid [stayed] to the Lodge
and then came to Hirams in the
evening
Pleasent [sic] and warm Alpha went to
plowing and I went to mowing
finishe[d] this forenoon cuting [sic] hay
for this year Andrew came home
in the afternoon and then Samantha
and I went over to Fitchburgh to
get a few things at the store
August, Saturday 27
Very warm and dry dew [sic] in a
load of hay in the morning
picked the wool off from a lamb
that died last night marked
out some lands for the boys
to plow and then went to
cutting up corn the rest of
the day Alpha has gone to the
burg [Fitchburgh] has not got home yet
Drew in a load of hay this morning
Pleasent [sic] and warm staid [stayed] all
night to Hirams did not get
home till most noon Went to
drawing hay when we came home
drew in three loads of hay looks
like rain there went a shower
south of us it rained quite hard
August, Sunday 28
Pleasent [sic] and warm There was no
meeting to day [sic] Staid [stayed] at home till
in the afternoon We got ready to
go over to Squares there come up a
little dash of rain and we went
over there Hiram Burrells folks
were there and Hariett [sic] They was
ready to start for home Hariet [sic]
came home with us to help Samantha
August, Monday 29
Looks like rain Alpha went to
plowing and Andrew and I went
to [toping?] corn had two showers
in the forenoon and went to
cuting [sic] corn in the afternoon
and Andrew went plowing Willie
Smith came down after Andrew
to help him tomorrow
