August, Monday 8
August, Friday 12
Cloudy in the forenoon went to
cuting [sic] oats the boys went to pick
some Whortle berries in the forenoon
in the swamp in the afternoon they
picked some upland berries I did
not get quite throught [through] cuting [sic]
oats the boys bound some after supper
looks some like rain to night [sic]
Pleasent [sic] went to binding oats and
Andrew went to mowing and fini
shed[finished] the peice [sic] we was cuting [sic]
around and then went to drawing
oats to stack them finished
them and drew in a load of
hay looks some like rain I
took the old carpet and spread it on
the stack
August, Tuesday 9
Cloudy rained in the night Went
over to Fitchburgh in the forenoon
to get some things in the afternoon
finished cuting [sic] oats Andrew went
up to Mrs Smiths to help Charlie
mowe [sic] some marsh grass John
Canfield and his boy staid [stayed] here
to night [sic]
August, Wednesday 10
Pleasent [sic] and warm Heard of
John [Dimonds?] death this morning
I mowed awhile in the morning and
then the boys drew a load of hay
and then we got ready and went
to the funeral We came back by
Dansville to see if Martha would
come home with us she did not
and we did not get any letters
Andrew had the ague to day [sic]
August, Thursday 11
Clear and pleasent [sic] went to bind
ing [binding] oats this forenoon bound till
noon and they was to[o] dry to bind
after dinner set them up and then
drew in some hay and after supper
went to binding oats again Mrs
Poxen Mrs McCann was here in
the afternoon Andrew did not feel very
well

August, Saturday 13
Rainy did not do much in
the forenoon unloaded a load
of hay in the afternoon
Alpha went to Fitchburgh to
get some things I worked
some in the garden in the
afternoon so another week is
gone and with it many has
gone to there [sic] las[t] home
