 July, Sunday 31
 
 Rained again last night but was
 pleasent [sic] in the forenoon The boys
 went to Almira home and Samantha
 went up to Johns Before they went
 I hitched to the mowing machine
 and cut up one side of a piece of
 grass and back mowed out the fenc [fence]
 corners and then went to rakeing [sic] rained
 in the afternoon
 
 Pleasent [sic] and cool nights went up
 to Fathers They boys went to Dansville
 to meeting We did not go to church
 any where [sic] to day [sic] went to Sunday
 in the afternoon there was but a
 few out we did not get home till
 after dark had the chores to do after
 we came home
 
 July, Thursday 28
 Raining this morning early and
 rained hard most all of the forenoon
 the ground is very wet Went over
 to Squares this afternoon and over to
 Fitchburgh and went to see [Lau?]
 Stowell for Truman to get some money
 for him Staid [stayed] to Squares till after
 supper cooler to night [sic] after the rain
 July, Friday 29
 Cooler and cloudy looks like clearing
 off went and got and openend [opened?] out
 sixty seven dosen [dozen] of wheat un
 loaded [unloaded] one load and went up to
 Hiram Burrells and made a visit Brother
 Holts folks were there Old Mr The
 lps [Thelps] died this morning he was
 almost ninety years old lacking
 two days We are passing away oh
 many has gone since he came on to the stage
 July, Saturday 30
 Pleasent [sic] and cool went to mowing
 cut seven times around the piece
 and then stired [sic] out some that was cut
 before And then drew in two loads
 of wheat and while the boys was un
 loading [unloading] one load I went to rakeing
 [sic] hay drew in one load and one of
 wheat and then went to rolling up
 hay
