Pleasent [sic] wind North went down
into the woods to chop some timber
for fence posts and wood cut down a
tree a cut it up in the afternoon
drew it up and went over to Fitch
burgh in the evening Paid Mr Hans
by 10 dollars and got somethings
and Paid 18 cts [cents] for them thawed some
Cloudy and thawing sawed on
the chip yard this fore noon
cut some wood and rails and
fence posts Andrew went and
carried the saw home in the
afternoon and Alpheus came
home in the afternoon I talked
of going over to Fitchburgh [illegible]

March, Tuesday 22
Pleasent [sic] and warm choped [sic] in the
wood in the forenoon in the after
noon drew up wood and rail cuts
and fence post in the afternoon went
to Dansville and staid [stayed] to the Lodge
in the evening I ricieved [received] a letter from
Allen It has thawed very fast today
The sleighing is used up for the present
Cloudy and chilly wind in the north
west Went over to Fitchburgh
in the forenoon to get some
things and take Mrs Richmond
home in the afternoon cleaned
up some wheat to take to mill
and some feed to get ground
for the horses and cows thawed
very fast this afternoon
March, Saturday 19
Pleasent [sic] and warm wind south thawed
very fast I got Fathers Sars last
night cut up two trees and drew
them up and a couple loads of
wood and cut some wood to last
over Sunday in the evening Squares
folks came over here and Otis Richmo
nds and his folks They came over
to see the baby
March, Sunday 20
Rainy in the morning did not
go to meeting to day [sic] Andrew
went and Alpheus went down
to Unadilla last Friday and
has not come home yet Mrs
Richmond is here with Saman
tha Mary McCann has gone to
Church Thawing very fast
