The first page of records states, “Peter Akes his Bible May 2nd 1830.” The family Bible contains names and dates of births, marriages, and deaths of the Akes family. Several handwritings indicate different people recorded the dates in the Bible over time. The Bible is missing the front and back cover as well as many of the Bible pages. All of the family record pages between the Old and New Testaments remained intact.

Peter Akes
Biographical History
Peter Akes was born October 24, 1771 in Germany. H married Pricilla who was born October 5, 1776.
Together they had several children. Pricilla died in 1810 and Peter married Susannah Harris on July 16,
1811. They had several children together. The family lived in Kentucky in the early 1800s. Peter died in
1835 in Macoupin County, Illinois.
Scope and Content

people recorded the dates in the Bible over time. The Bible is missing the front and back cover as well as
