Tue[Tuesday] Morn [morning]
10:30 AM
Hi “Honey”
Well my Letter writing days are getting numbered don’t know if you are keeping track or not but
I have 2 wks [weeks] left tomorrow. Cain’t say I am in a letter writing mood recon [sic] I better report in
thou [sic]. Probally [sic] about 2 more notes is all I will get wrote I doubt if it will do you any good to
write me after you receive this letter as I don’t intend to be around this part of the country. I got a copy
of my orders out this morn [morning] and read it again sure have been looking for them every [ever]
since I got in this dam Army. Yes. [yesterday] was payday got $70 (rich huh?). Now I want to go
shopping got to get a suitcase and some odds and ends from dear old Germany. Yep I like Charlton
Hestons acting to but I don’t think he is swoony of course I cain’t see him through womens eyes. Only
from my point of view. [page 2] I don’t know what to think about Frank he must be dis-satisified [sic]
someway or just likes the darn stuff hate to hear he is drinking so much. Don’t know what he could of
wanted with me. I suppose Mom and them could meet me in New York but I still have to go on to
Kentucky. I really don’t know when the convention is as they have never written the date. I spect
[expect] you would get pretty tired with Kenny believe me you would have some good help. Whats [sic]
this about James having a gal? I will have to check into that when I get home sort of kid him a little.
Well there is nothing new here so better close this off I have to write the folks a line after dinner. I have
owed Aunt Ruth and Aunt Hat a letter for a long time cain’t seem to them answered. Hope all are fine
and tell all hello
Love Jr Tinder
P.S. Calvin and James looks natural to me, by the way I am wondering what kinds of shoes you are
wearing they look sort of odd to me. No Offense
Bye Bye
{over}
[page 3]
Tell our boy his old man said hello to him. Just think I will get to see him in real life before to much
longer. Kinda anxious to see someone else to
Guess who????
(If it should happen to be changed take it right back were [where] you get it). Hon [Honey] I am sending
my tape-recorder thru [sic] the mail some time this wk [week]. When you get it check and see if the box
or it I should say is damaged in any way. Now this is very important-Please above all do not try to play
it. Don’t even plug it in till I get home (as I have it packed. Don’t mess with it at all. I don’t mean to say
I wouldn’t trust you or someone with it but I want to unpack the thing then I will know it is okay.
Boy we have been having some chilly weather here the sun has peeked out a little this morn
[morning] thou [sic].
See you soon
