Mon [Monday] Morn [morning]
9:30 AM
Hello “Angel”
Here it is old blue Monday once more, you know I shouldn’t have but about 15 more to do here
in Germany. Doesn’t that sound good? it does to me anyway. Well last wk [week] didn’t go as slow as
the one before it so things are looking up. Volpe left on Thur [Thursday] so now I have to run P&C
[packing & crating] by myself, Capt [Captain] Huron said he couldn’t get any replacements. We were
pretty busy last wk [week] maybe it won’t keep up thou [sic]. They have been having some sort of
celebration here in Germany for quite some time last Tue [Tuesday] was the last night of it so I went out
Mon [Monday] & Tue [Tuesday] to see what it was [page 2] all about. Boy the people really believe in
celebrating when ever [sic] something comes along. I had a pretty fair time, rest of the wk [week] I took
in shows except Fri [Friday] nite when we bowled. I had a pretty good series 539 for 3 games (190, 190,
159) still we lost 2 out of the 3 games. From the sound of your last letter you do quite a bit honky
tonking when you go out. 1 time makes up for about 10 times that you don’t get to go out don’t you
think? The pictures were really swell (except the one of you) ha ha I have been wanting to see what the
cars look like for a long time. I think Dads really looks pretty I like it better than Ferbs [page 3] either
one would suit me fine thou [sic]. Mary K said Ferb really was proud of the new Chevie you will have to
send me a photo of it sometime. Well Baby I think I am out of news so will ring off and write the folks.
Hope all are okay and tell all hello for me. Oh I forgot to tell you today is a holliday [sic] for us only I
have to pull C.Q [Charge of Quarters] here in HQuarters [Headquarters] all day and tonight, aren’t I
lucky? It burns me up isn’t much I can do about it thou [sic].
