Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
16 Feb [February] 53 [1953]
Mon [Monday] Morn [morning]
9:40 AM
Hi Honey
Believe you me this weather has really turned of cold today. It seems to be colder than it has
been all winter probally [sic] I just imagine it thou [sic]. So if I can keep from freezing will drop my
weekly note to you.
I think this past wk [week] is the longest one I have spent over here yet. I sure hope the rest
don’t drag along as bad as it did. Looks like the closer to the time I leave here gets, the farther away it
seems. In case you ever wonder what I do anymore you can just say I am either at P&C [packing &
crating] or the movie [page 2] and maybe bowling. I have completely quit going out, if I would start
again perhaps the time would go faster. This is the week Volpe leaves doesn’t look like they are going to
put anyone in here with me. I think I will take training tomorrow so I can see him off Thur [Thursday].
My dear I write you a letter each wk [week] whether you think I am mad at you or not, excepting when I
was on leave. As for the thing about Butterball it doesn’t matter to me for you are my wife no matter
who’s [sic] name he signs on his letters. It wasn’t 2 times you wrote it thou [sic] it was 3. About those
pictures there weren’t anymore of me anyhow so don’t [page 3] look for another set. I have no
intention of kissing Rosetta anywhere, I was just joking in the first place. It would be wonderful to have
her as a nurse didn’t you know that I still love her? Maybe that will make you jealous since you are not
jealous of my German Fraulines. (notice the “s” on Frauline) I got yours and Kennys Valentines Sat
[Saturday] he writes fair not to be any older than he is. So Lucille and Warren got engaged one wk
[week] married the next huh? He must be like me might as well be hitched as engaged. Tell them I said
congradulations [sic]. Boy it is a good thing you trapped me looks like all the gals are going to be [page
4] married before I get home. You would have had some other jerk yourself by now. Believe it or not as
bad as I hate to admit it you would have broke my heart. I suppose I would of got over it thou [sic]. I
want to go see Don and Bill this coming wk [week] end if I get up the energy like to see how those
pictures came out that we took. I have got to buy you a birthday gift might be able to run some things
down in Frankfort [Frankfurt, Germany]. Time to sign off am out of news. Hope all are okay, and tell all
hello for me.
All my Love
Jr Tinder (see you)
P.S. Did I ever tell you how wonderful you were and that you were way to good for me? No, well I just
told you.
