Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
Dec [December] 29, 1952
Mon [Monday] Morn [morning] 10:45
Dearest Darling
I got a little of schedule last wk [week] but will try to get back on this one. Not much happened
over the wk [week]-end. I went bowling and played a little basketball Sat [Saturday] eve [evening],
couldn’t bowl worth a darn hit 177 the first game but the other to were awful. Sun [Sunday] I slept till
almost 11 got up took a shower, shaved then went and ate. We went up and played at the service club
Tue [Tuesday] Eve [evening] had a pretty good sized crowd. I don’t think we did to bad. I sang 3 songs,
You nearly lose your mind, Shot-gun boggie and Driftwood on the river. I am learning some of the
newer ones that have came out only it is hard for me to get the tune to them. Only get to hear them
when they are on hillbilly Gasthaus. I don’t think I have changed a bit far as looks are concerned and I
sure think you have enough pictures [page 2] of me. If I ever take any I will send them along as I sure
have no use for em [them]. I do expect it to be pretty hard to eat your cooking of course you may
improve from the sound of your letter you need to. Still I don’t see how your cooking could be worse
than the Army thats [sic] for sure. My Dear I think I have answered most of your questions in my
previous letter but will answer them again if you wish. Yes I got the letters with the 3c [cent] stamps on
them. I will say your letter writing has improved a lot. It was only for awhile [sic] I didn’t get any mail
from you. Also the Christmas present arrived okay. Thank you very much. Honey you must realize it
takes quite a time for us to exchange letters. Don’t worry about our Son. I know he is going to be strong
it just comes natural. Strong Pop Fat mother makes a healthy baby Right? I would still like to be with
you now even if it does take size [page 3] 18 pants. Regardless if I do love you you [sic] should reduce
some I might love you more. I am missing you much as usual only I hate to get started to thinking for I
want you bad enough as it is and I know I cain’t have you. Be glad I am not at home right now.
Well wife I have wrote the folks, Aunt Hat and you this morn [morning] think I will sign off and
go eat a little. Hope all had a Merry Xmas and a happy New Year. Myself I sure missed being home.
Hope all are okay and tell all hello for me,
All my Love
Jr Tinder
P.S. Haven’t got to see Don or Bill yet hope to this weekend if I can get a pass.
