Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
27 Oct [October] 1952
Mon [Monday] Morn [morning] 9:45
Hi “Honey”,
Boy we have sure been rushed these past few days, I have allready [sic] finished 2 jobs this morn
[morning] so now and between 1 o’clock when I have another Lt [Lieutenant] to pack I will try to get this
weekly report off to you. I finally got a letter from Frank he said that you hadn’t wrote them for quite a
while. I should have wrote to him when his pop died but didn’t get around to it. Well I am still waiting
and wondering surley [surely] it has arrived by now. Before to many more days (6 to be exact) I will be
gone 9 months so please hurry up or the neighbors may start talking again as for me???? that’s your
worry. Really I would do [page 2] nothing as I love you and I guess I did it. You just be careful after it is
born even cold natured me has some mighty hot moments. Of course I forgot you said you were going
to quit.
Angel it seems like these days are getting longer and longer I am missing you more and more
although there is nothing I can do I sure hate to wait 9 more months to be with you again. Sure the
dames were beautiful but believe it or not I suppose you have me hooked pretty tight as they didn’t
bother me a bit. It looks like Christmas is just around the corner I have to get you and the baby
something as for the rest of the things I recon [sic] it will be up to you [page 3] as I am not much of a
shopper.
I don’t recon [sic] there is any need me telling you what I did this past wk [week]. Same old
things went to shows played basketball couple, beat on the old guitar, Thur [Thursday] as usual I played
bingo. I won’t this Thur [Thursday] as we are spending the night out in the field. One thing I am glad of
is the big inspections are past now we have to stand inspections every other wk [week] as the I.G.
[Inspector General] wasn’t to hot, I got my pass pulled for 1 night (had a dirty shovel). I am out of
writing material so will sign off. Tell everyone hello for me. Hope it is over with and you are feeling
okay.
All my Love
Jr Tinder
P.S. Here is your picture I think it is horrible. I want some 130 lb ones
