Biographical History
H.P. Gum was born on April 14, 1811 in Tennessee. He married Julia Welch on March 12, 1833 in
Tennessee. After their marriage, the family lived in Kentucky and Tennessee before moving to Missouri
between 1850 and 1860. Once in Missouri, they settled in Lafayette County. H.P. died in the same
county on July 21, 1895 and was buried in McKendree Cemetery.

This collection consists of the family Bible for the H.P. Gum family. This Bible contains family records for
births, marriages, and deaths for H.P., his wife Julia Welch, and their children. Also included in this
collection are the scanned family record pages.
