Administrative History
Sibley Cemetery is located in Sibley, MO. This cemetery dates back to the early 1800s and was used as a
cemetery for soldiers stationed at Fort Osage as well as early pioneers. Burials within the cemetery
continued through the 20th century. It is the oldest cemetery in Jackson County, Missouri as well as the
oldest Euro-American cemetery located in Western Missouri.
Webb Cemetery is located northwest of Pattonsburg in Daviess County, MO. This cemetery began on
the property of Thomas Hanley Webb, who purchased the land in 1845. It was first a family cemetery
but grew to contain the burials of those living in this area.

This collection consists of transcribed gravestone markings from Sibley and Webb cemeteries. The
gravestone markings range from the mid-1800s to mid-1900s. The Webb Cemetery records were
transcribed by Francis A. Miller.
