Biographical History
Sewell Ernest Richardson was born on April 5, 1847 in Stoneham, Massachusetts. At some point
between 1850 and 1870, Sewell and his parents moved west to Wisconsin. Sewell married Margaret
Nancy (Annie) Tidyman on November 3, 1872 in Waupun, Wisconsin. Three years later in 1875, they had
moved and were farming a homestead in Marion County, Kansas. Sewell and his family continued to
reside in Marion County. Sewell died on March 19, 1922 in Marion County. His wife Annie died 1927.
