Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
May 11, 1952
Sun [Sunday] Eve [evening] 7 P.M.
12:00 there
Dearest Wife
I shall try to write you a letter while I am waiting on it to get late enough to go to sleep, as I am
already in bed. It has just started to rain out which makes the 2nd time today. The weather sure changes
quick over here so I never know what it is going to do. I got 3 letters yes [yesterday] 2 was from the
school I was supposed to attend. One was from Mary K 1 from you telling me that you got the watch. I
haven’t been doing anything as usual we played another ball game Fri [Friday] nite and won 14-5. It is
sure good to be playing as it gives me something to do we have 2 games coming up this week. I went to
the show last night and this Eve [evening] they were both pretty good at least they were not the type to
make me homesick or lonely for you that is better than [page 2] usual. So you have been having some
dreams huh? Probally [sic] about some other man rather than me. Are they better than the real thing?
hope not or I won’t have anything to do when I come home. I like the picture of you standing up I stuck
it on my wall locker were I can see it everytime [sic] I open it. Don’t tell anyone but I have kissed you 5
or 6 times of course not real but just play like. You know I have a confession to make I think I am in love
with you. Since you say you are not jealous of me anymore I don’t think you love me even thou [sic] you
say you do. Only a little over 14 months to go does it seem like I have been gone 3 ½ mo’s [months]? I
will really be a happy guy when I hit Kilmer again. Well I think I will close for now. Hope everyone is dug
out of the mud by now tell the Folks hello for me. You better not get to lazy to write or….
All my Love
Jr Tinder
P.S. Even thought of a boys name yet? I haven’t.
