27, Feb [February], [19]52
Dear Darling
While I am looking at my picture of you siting in the tree I will attempt to start another letter
which I shall finish and mail sometime tomorrow. Probally [sic] before you receive it you will have
gotten the one stating that my permanent station is in Kaiserslautern. Well I thought so to until I arrived
hear [sic] at 11:00 this morn. After receiving the extra equipment I have really got a load now. This
morn [morning] when I left Zweibrucken I had to carry it quite a ways didn’t know it could get so heavy
believe me. This Kaiserslautern is a pretty nice town also a good camp I wouldn’t mind staying right
here if I had to. Only they seem to have other ideas. Right after eating dinner I went over to see what
company I would be assigned to. They have now decided to send me to a sub-post in Bad Kreuznach
Germany. Although I will still have my job as general utility repairman. I am going to have a record
check at 8 in the morn [morning] [page 2] then leave here as far as I know. I am really getting tired of
moving around but from what I hear (although I don’t believe anything until I see it) I am going to be
very much satisfied. Tomorrow when I get there and find out just what I have to do, were I am going to
live, I will then fill in the details right now I have better things to think about. (namely you) I wouldn’t
take anything for this picture of you. If I were there right now I would yank you out of that tree, take
of[f] your ___ then guess what I would do? Not once but many many times. I love you and miss you a
whole lot. You are probably glad to be rid of an old bag like me. Angel what I would give to be with you,
starting right now until you wouldn’t put up with me any longer. I love you, love you, love you

Fri [Friday] 29 Feb [February] 6:15
I didn’t finish this letter yes. [yesterday] as I intended because I wanted to wait until I was interviewed
this morning to find out what my job was going to be. You could never guess. They have now decided
to send me to [page 3] a heavy equipment school. Believe me I am tired of taking training only there is
nothing I can do about it. I also have another move coming. The Capt [Captain] told me were [where] it
was but I have already forgot. One thing I think is that I won’t be doing much work over here as they
have Germans doing most all the work. I really admire them to they can work rings around Americans.
They are fast as the devil and run at whatever they do all the time. I am now living in a hotel also there
are only 60 men in my Det [Detachment]. I think I will be coming back here after taking school which I
won’t mind at all for they all seem like pretty good Joe’s. I stay in a room with 3 other Guys one of them
is away on leave at present. I suppose you have been working hard? I only hope that you have been
feeling much better. Do you have any fun anymore? How about the dance? I really [page 4] miss them.
I doubt if ever I will be able to speak this German language so I won’t be able to do very much unless by
signs with my hands. I went to the show last night I may take off to one again tonight. They are opening
a [Enlitmens?] Club today but that don’t interest me. I would go to the PX [Post Exchange] I don’t know
were [where] that is at so I am stuck. Tell the folks hello for me.
“I want you to” I miss you much. If you were here I would love you to pieces. Take care of
yourself and keep on writing.
