Guy Lee Tinder, Jr. correspondence
Wed [Wednesday] Eve [evening] Oct [October] 3, 1951
9:00
Hello “Angel”
Since I received 5 letters from you tonight even thou [sic] I really don’t have time I am going to
answer them. That is the way I like to get mail all in all I got 8 letters, 1 card and one package. I wanted
to talk to you Sat. [Saturday] nite but I reversed the charge’s to keep from getting a lot of change that I
couldn’t even get at the Service Club. Naturally I didn’t want to reverse the charges to your house. I
played basketball Sun [Sunday] eve [evening] then went to the show that nite, it was nothing like getting
to come home thou [sic]. I think I told you I had my wonderful car on the post it sure does come in
handy. Boy this engineering basic is really going to be easy compared to Inf. [infantry] that is if it don’t
start getting rougher. I may even get lazy only trouble it seems like I never have any spare time to do
anything. Mon [Monday] we saw shows, Tue [Tuesday] we played with hand tools, Wed [Wednesday]
today we had camouflage all in one they were easy. Tomorrow I have guard duty 6 PM till 6AM on 2 off
4 hrs it shouldn’t be [page 2] to hard. Jim Tinder was my cousin he got killed in the last war that is why I
probally [sic] never mentioned him he was a belly gunner in a[n] Airplane. I can hardly wait to see you
this weekend I am much, much lonely for you to more than I can say. I have really missed you these
past 2 weeks in fact I doubt if you can handle me this weekend that is a question if I get a pass. I have
just gotta period. Well darling I will close for now am really counting on seeing you this weekend end
[sic] so don’t schedule any extra dates. Sounds like you have been having lots of fun. Be good and keep
making lots of money
All my Love
Jr Tinder
P.S. Naturally those pictures were cute of me what else should you expect?
Bye “Bag”
P.S. a big one
If I never did tell you I don’t like the sound of Reversid [Riverside] Rancho that is unless I were there with
you. To be truthful I am jealous.
