Tue [Tuesday] Eve [evening] 7:45
Dear Angel:
Seeing as how I have about rounded up my work except shave, shower and that you sent me a
quick letter I shall answer it. Speaking of shows I would like to have been with you Sun. [Sunday] nite as
I haven’t saw a show in a long time. Of course that is not the only reason I could think of dozens more. I
guess you are living a life of ease? As for myself so far this week it hasen’t [sic] been so bad we have
been getting off fairly easy except for G.I. party last nite. I was lucky because the boys had me play and
sing while they did the G.I ing so at least the Guitar has done me some good. About that party we are
going to have it seems that you have it sort of mixed up. We G.I. every week this party Fri nite is a beer
party plus we are going to have a little talent show, just a lot of fun I hope the only bad thing No Women
[page 2] naturally I would want you as I could think of no one else I would want to be with. I think that
you were loads better this past weekend so therefore you made me much happier. Next time I come in
we will go honky-tonking. I was really lucky as a lot of the fellows leave this camp Sat [Saturday] some
go to Fort Bliss Texas some to Fort Sheridan Illinois they are much farther from home-that I wouldn’t
like. I will be in Btrg [building?] C, 69th but I don’t know the real address yet. I have been thinking if no
one goes to Polish park anymore I guess we will have to start going somewhere else to just so that some
of the gang go there also. It doesn’t look like I will be home this weekend boy I wished I were as I will be
leaving all to soon anyway probally [sic] overseas too. That I hope never comes. Well Darling I think I
will sign off hope to see you again soon, Keep writing
