Hello Angel:
You accused me in one of your letters today of not writing you very much, well just to show you
that you are wrong I am going to write you a whole letter. Well today was a fairly easy one studied
about machine guns and took a hike the last 2 hrs. Was really glad to get the 2 letters from you, also 1
from Mary K, and 1 from guess who? Gene Wilks boy was I surprised she said she was going on her
vacation down to the Ozarks. She sent those pictures we took out at Bob’s. All I have to say is I never
did take a very good picture boy are they horrid even thou [sic] they look just like me. I guess you are
making much money this week? Anyway I hope so as I am poor now and you will have to support me.
That is if you like me you ought to be glad to do it. I suppose you know I love you but I will tell you again
anyhow. I wished we were married I think it would really be swell one of these days I hope to get up the
courage, in the near future would suit me just fine. Darling you are the sweetest the [page 2] best girl in
the whole world. You would have to be that and much more to have put up with me for about 3 years. I
never, never want to lose you because it would break my heart in many pieces. I got off early tonight so
I oiled my rifle, shined my shoes now all I have to do is shave and go to bed. I was sleepy today in class
so a good nights sleep will do me good. I know the rest of the week I will be plenty busy. Boy am I
unlucky I have to do K.P. [kitchen patrol] Sat [Saturday] all day so if I cannot find someone to do it for me
I will be stuck in this berg over the weekend. It really has me worried. This week of all weeks I want to
come home and they do something like that to me. Every time something happens like that well Baby
am counting much on seeing you bye for now and keep your fingers crossed for me
