August, Wednesday 24
Pleasent [sic] days and cool nights
Andrew went to draging [sic] and I went
to mowing till afternoon and then
went with Samantha to pick
some whortle berries for pies and
then went and put up the
hay that I cut in the forenoon
Borrowed a bag of flour of Square
Very warm and dry
went mowing in the forenoon
Andrew was a plowing but
it was so warm he could not
plow but little Raked up some
hay and drew in a load in the
afternoon I plowed some after sun
down
August, Sunday 21
August, Thursday 25
Pleasent [sic] and warm Went to meeting
in the afternoon up to school house
by Fathers Brother Holt preached
his last sermon for this conference
year The boys staid [stayed] with the
children we went down to Fathers
a little while after meeting
Rained a little last night and
is cooler unloaded a load of
hay in the morning and then went
to mowing in the afternoon
Samantha went down to George Bach
lors [Bachelors] Andrew went to plowing and
hurt his foot and then I went to
plowing till nearly sundown and
went after Samantha and to see about
going to camp meeting
August, Monday 22
Warm and pleasent [sic] went to
mowing in the forenoon And
in the afternoon went to help
Mr Poxen thrash Alpha went
to draging [sic] on the summer
fallow Andrew went to rakeing [sic]
hay and puting [sic] it up
August, Tuesday 23
Cloudy and windy Went to thrash
for Mr Poxen he finished to
day he had 259 bush [bushels] of wheat
and 109 of oats in the afternoon
worked for Mr McCann
thrashing it looks like rain
today it getting very dry
