August, Sunday 14
August, Thursday 18
Pleasent [sic] and warm did not go
to church in the forenoon Heard
of the death of Ambrose
Angels child it was buried
this afternoon we went down
to the school house to the fune
ral [funeral] but they did not have any went
over to Squares a little while
Pleasent [sic] Thrasher are here had to
unload some hay got started and
thrashed 84 bushels before dinner
of wheat in the afternoon 100 bush [bushels]
of wheat and 101 of oats did not
get throught [through] till dark So they
with me two nights had 184
bush [bushels] of wheat 106 of oats
August, Monday 15
August, Friday 19
Pleasent [sic] went to mowing in the morning
finished to day [sic] and then went to rakeing
[sic] in the afternoon and drew one load
into the barn and then roled [rolled] up
the rest Looked some for the thrasers
[thrashers]
Look some like rain cleaned
up around the barn and fixed
the straw stack and [toped?]
it up and then rake up the
Peas and drew them into the barn
and then went over Fitchburgh
Recievid [received] a letter from Truman and
heard from Allen and was glad to
hear from them
August, Tuesday 16
Pleasent [sic] unloaded a load of hay and
drew in another finished cuting [sic]
the peas and oats in the forenoon
in the afternoon Square came over
to help me kill a veal calf we
killed it I cut it up and let
Square have a piece to pay him
seperated [sic] the sheep took the lambs
from the ewes
August, Wednesday 17
Pleasent [sic] went to Dansville
to visit Brother Holts folks
we had a good time Mr and Mrs
Bachelor and daughter and Father
Holt went with us Mr [Fellrs?]
Burrell, Mr and Mrs Livermore
Mr George Douglas and wife Mrs
Smith and Harriet Holt Mr and Ms
