July, Saturday 9
July, Wednesday 13
Pleasent [sic] turned over my
hay that was cut in the fore
noon and commenced to draw
it in Andrew staid [stayed] to Dansville
last night and came home this after
noon we drew in four loads of
hay while the boys unloaded the
last load I planted some cucumbers
Pleasent [sic] wind south put the
reaper together for cuting [sic]
wheat worked till most noon
and then came up a shower
and then we had to wait till
two o clock before we went to
work again there was a heavy
shower that went south of us in
[written sideways in margin]: the afternoon
July, Sunday 10
Pleasent [sic] and warm went to
meeting and Sunday school in
the afternoon heard Mr George
Lyon preach Samantha had
the ague while we were gone
Brother Holt had gone out to the
camp meeting near Fentonville
another week has gone with cares and joys
July, Monday 11
Rainy and rained most of the
night and rained hard the most
of the forenoon cleared off in the
afternoon went to Dansville to
take some timbers up to raise Martha
house drew two loads of sand and
then came home did not get home
till after ten oclock
July, Tuesday 12
Cloudy in the morning rained
in the night I plowed in the
forenoon the boys went a
Wortle berrieing [sic] in the after
noon we commenced to cut
Wheat for it had cleared off
Samantha had the ague to
day Alpha went after Harriet
to night

July, Thursday 14
Cloudy and looks like rain Rained
in the forenoon worked in the
garden cleared off Brother
Holts folks came down here
to day [sic] did not do anything
in the wheat till after supper
keeps wet wheat will soon
grow for the berry is still
soft
