May, Saturday 14
Looks like rain some to day [sic] Mr
Pickett was here to day [sic] we drew out
twenty three loads to day [sic] Andrew
is better to day [sic] I went to see
if I could get Mrs Bowdish to
help Samantha to morrow [sic] as she
is cleaning house and then
came back and done the chores
Clear and warm still plowing
for corn Alpha finished
spreading manure to day [sic]
so he could go to Fitch
burg in the afternoon to get
some sugar did [not] got back
till nearly dark Father brought
Harriett down to day [sic]
May, Wednesday 11
May, Sunday 15
Rainy in the morning and
showery through the day
Mr Pickett was here we drew
two loads of manure from the
barn and three out in the fie
-ld [sic] from the straw stack bottom
and then commenced to plow
for corn in the afternoon
Sunday very warm and
pleasent [sic] went to meeting
in the afternoon and had
Sunday school after
meeting and formed the
classes Haritt [sic] went up
with us and came back the
children are coming down
with measels [sic]
May, Thursday 12
Very wet for plowing but
have to plow for corn Alpha
is spreading manure while
I was plowing had one or two
showers through the day
Mr Mccann commenced to
plant corn to day [sic]
May, Friday 13
Still pleasent [sic] and nice
weather for planting corn
I am plowing for corn yet
it is time corn was in
the ground it is fifteen
day [s] earlier than last
spring by this time wheat does
not look first rate this spring
