April, Friday 1
Cloudy wind east did not rain in the
fore noon sawed fence post and
rail cuts this forenoon and was
going to Fitchburgh in the afternoon
with some apple but it rained the
most of the afternoon Andrew went to
[illegible] [illegible] dinner and will stay till
Sunday mud very deep snow not all
gone yet
April, Saturday 2
Pleasent [sic] and chilly wind Went to
Dansville Samantha went up to
her Fathers while I was gone I
recieved [sic] a letter from Allen I paid
the postage on my papers which
was 1,000 cts [cents] I came back to Fathers
and staid [stayed] till after supper Met
Mr H A Hawley he paid me some money
April, Sunday 3
Pleasent [sic] and windy did not go to
meeting to day [sic] Alpha went Andrew
was gone to [illegible] I staid [stayed] with
Samantha and the children
The weeks are passing swiftly
away this year is one quarter is
gone and soon our days will be
numberd [sic] and we shall pass
away from earth
