March, Tuesday 29
Warm and thawing choped [sic] at
the house for summer Cloudy
most of the day and looks like
a storm We talk of going up to
Fathers to morrow [sic] They want to get
all of the children together before
they break up house keeping this
spring
March, Wednesday 30
Cold wind north went up to
Fathers with Squares folks the
children were all at home but
Gustavus We had oysters for dinner
and warm shugar [sugar] after dinner and
had a good visit They may not all
meet again together in there old home
Oh that they might meet in heaven
March, Thursday 31
Raining and rained all nigh [sic] cleared
up in the midle [sic] of the day choped [sic]
wood a spell before dinner after noon
went to Fitchburgh Borrowed twenty
five dollars of George Ford for a short
time Paid Frank Fitch 2 dollars
And let him have some apples for
75 cts [cents] the balance that I owe him
