March, Sunday 27
Pleasent [sic] frose [sic] in the night Started
for Mill with ten bush [bushels] of wheat and
nineteen bush [bushels] of feed did not get
there till elven [sic] o clock and did not
leave till after five and had to leave my
load bfore [sic] I got home and came home
a horse back and got into John S.s
ditch where the bridge was gone
Wind East still raining did not
go to meeting any where [sic] to day [sic]
nearly sick with cold Squares
folks had been up to Fathers and
stoped [sic] here when they come back
and stayed till after dinner
And so the time is passing away
soon we shall all be gone from earth

Plesent [sic] frose [sic] hard last night
went down to see if the bridge could
be fix but gave it up till the water went
down I went after my load I went
around by Mr Kellys out to Mr
Whitneys and Mr Coulsons and then
started for home thawing very fast
We fixed the bridge when I came back

Pleasent [sic] but freesing [sic] nights
We took the apples out the hole
and carried them to the barn
Andrew cut his foot this morning
I finished a letter to Allen and
Alpha went to Dansville after
the mail and he staid [stayed] all
night I did not feel very well
on account of a bad cold that I had
March, Saturday 26
Looks like a storm wind in the East
Worked in the barn in the forenoon
Thrashed out the beans and cleaned
up the floor It rained in the afternoon
cleaned up the beans had two bush [bushels]
did not do much on account of the
rain Piched [pitched] some hay on to the
scaffold over the floor Still raining

Cloudy worked at the house
choping [sic] wood for summer and done
the chores Spring is here the
snow is not all gone yet We have
a long winter and it will soon
be planting time
