March, Tuesday 1
Cloudy wind East and thawed in
the fore part of the day in the
after noon [sic] commenced to freese [sic]
Went and took Harriet and
Nelly Gray up to Fathers went
up across the marsh and back
land Samantha went up to
Mr Poxens while I was gone
Andrew came home from school
with me
March, Wednesday 2
Pleasent [sic] and thawing did not feel
very well gaive [gave] up going to
Dansville and went to bed for
a few hours and went out to
the barn and done some of the chores
and came to the house Clark Mac
-kender came over for me to go over
there to see his mother as she is
very sick
March, Thursday 3
Pleasent [sic] and warm Mrs Mackender
died last night and to day [sic] we
go to Dansville to see about getting [sic]
a coffin and shroud and to get
Brother Holt to preach the
sermon at the funeral in the
evening went over to Fitchburgh
to the prayer meeting
March, Friday 4
Snowing this forenoon Brother
and sister Holt came here be
fore dinner and staid [stayed] till after
dinner and then we went to the
funerall [sic] and then to the grave and
we did not get back till most
night Brother and Sister Holt
went home after supper in the
evening
